CNC Operator, Setter, Programmer

A progressive engineering company focused on the design and manufacture of industrial equipment is hiring several new positions for their busy machine shop 

Based near Leeds, the company is undergoing significant growth and investment, and they can offer excellent opportunities for career advancement and skills development.

About the roles (CNC Operator, Setter, Programmer):

These positions are split between and assigned to working on Dah Lih Vertical Machine Centres, Haas CNC Lathe, and Conventional Boring Machines. 

Depending on your skill level, your duties could include:

  • Operating, setting, and programming machines.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing data packs.
  • Ensure machined components are manufactured to the required quality level
  • Continuously deliver high standards of workmanship.
  • Report any quality defects or production issues.
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks on machines
  • Optimising efficiency through reduced set-up and cycle times.

There are two shift options available:

  • Both work 37 hours per week (excluding overtime).
  • Option 1: Permanent Days (4 Day Week – Monday to Thursday - 7am to 4.45pm)
  • Option 2: Permanent Nights (4 Night Week – Monday to Thursday – 9.30pm to 7.15am)

To be considered for these positions, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a relevant manufacturing environment.
  • Good knowledge of workshop practices, metal cutting techniques, choice of tooling, etc
  • Ideally you will be able to at least understand and manipulate programmes.
  • Having experience with FANUC systems is beneficial, but training is available.

Pay & Benefits:

  • Base salary in the region of £30,000 pa.
  • Night shift roles benefit from a shift premium/allowance at 1.? x the standard rate
