Engineering Team Leader / Supervisor – Dorset - Salary £53,000 pa + Pension + Benefits

A leading Food manufacturing business that produces high quality foods for the major multiple retailers are seeking to appoint an Engineering Team Leader/Supervisor who will be responsible for providing direction to the Engineering team and support to the Engineering Manager.

The Engineering Team Leader/Supervisor will report to the Engineering Manager and play a key role in driving performance in terms of KPI’s such as, Efficiency, Waste, Machine Utilisation, Equipment Effectiveness, Machine Uptime, Labour utilisation, Health and Safety, Service Levels. 

Key Accountabilities of the role:

• Work a Monday to Friday Shift Pattern encompassing 6-2, 2-10, 10-6.
• Ensuring all operations and activities within their remit are conducted in a safe manner, in accordance with site Health & Safety policies.
• Reinforce a ‘high performance culture’ encouraging innovation and Continuous Improvement, including the facilitation of Continuous Improvement initiatives within the Engineering department.
• To monitor progress of plant performance and implement downtime reduction activities. 
• Continually develop and ensure that the PPM procedures are correctly adhered to, and completion targets are attained. 
• Assist the Maintenance Engineers with planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance.
• Assist the Engineering Manager and Project teams with CAPEX investment into the site.
• Positively influence the change management process, driving engineering culture towards world class performance. 

The Person:

• An Ideal candidate will have Engineering Supervisory experience within Food and Drinks Manufacturing or similar Manufacturing environment. 
• Electrical or Mechanical bias, PLC skills an advantage.
• Demonstrable track record within people management and efficiency improvement. 
• Able to work well under pressure in an environment where product innovation is key and new products are constantly being introduced into production.
• Looking to join a stable engineering team and work within a fast-moving environment.
• Looking to further develop existing skills within a company where opportunities for career progression exist.
