Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

This profitable and well-established food manufacturer is seeking to appoint a Maintenance Engineer to strengthen the Engineering team and support continuing growth and investment.

Working as a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer here will offer diversity and no two days are the same.

Shift Pattern: 4-on 4-off (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am)

Specifically, you will:

  • Play a pivotal role in improving efficiencies across the whole production site.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance, completing tasks to a high standard.
  • Provide rapid reactive maintenance support, liaising with production departments.
  • Ensure that machinery, systems and plant is performing optimally with minimal downtime.
  • Diagnose faults, research and implement solutions to stop re-occurring breakdowns.
  • Establish improved maintenance procedures and protocols.
  • Conduct and oversee maintenance process audits.
  • Co-ordinate the activities of Contractors on site, to ensure they meet high standards and are working in accordance to site health and safety procedures.
  • Fit new parts (Mechanical, Electrical, Control Systems) and make sure equipment is working correctly.
  • Update the Computerised Maintenance Management System and breakdown reports.
  • Get involved with Project work (Installation and Commissioning).

The Person

  • Multi-Skilled with either Electrical or Mechanical bias.
  • Mechanical & electrical maintenance knowledge supported by recognised engineering qualifications (ONC/HNC or similar).
  • Experienced with automated factory and planned maintenance systems.
  • Possess previous Maintenance experience gained from within a Food Manufacturing environment, or similar Manufacturing or Process industry.
  • The ability to work well within a team and on your own.
  • To be a proactive problem-solver with excellent attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and willing to go the extra mile.
