FoodEng is proud to be supporting Starfrost (UK) Ltd with the recruitment of an experienced Project Manager.

Starfrost is a market leader in the design and manufacture of industrial freezing and chilling systems for the food processing industry.  As part of the Star Refrigeration group, Starfrost has sold systems in over 55 countries and continues to grow through major investments in production innovation and employee development.

The purpose of this role is to coordinate site installation projects throughout the UK, liaising with multiple departments, as well as subcontractors, suppliers, and customers to ensure successful project delivery.  As a challenging role, it would be well suited for someone who is highly motivated, organised, and has excellent communication skills. 

You must be based within 1hr drive from Lowestoft (East Anglia) or willing to relocate to the area.  Additionally, you must be flexible to travel to customers sites and work away from home during installations. 

The key duties will include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Organise, plan and manage site projects to schedule and within budget targets
  • Coordinate site activities with commissioning, technical and site staff
  • Maintain effective communication with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring customers and the wider team are informed accurately about project progress and issues.
  • Liaising with production department to ensure smooth operations and processes
  • Source and manage all site-based deliveries, shipments and hire equipment
  • Carry out Pre-Installation and Post-Installation checks to identify potential issues and how to overcome these
  • Prepare detailed installation reports for all on-site activities and recommended actions
  • Ensure all site rules and Health & Safety standards are observed

Suitable applicants will hold the following skills and experience:

  • A solid background in managing/supervising machinery installation projects 
  • Food Industry experience would be ideal, but not essential
  • Strong communication skills; An ability to communicate with project stakeholders and direct teams
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Good report writing skills
